155A Gallery is delighted to return for the third time to the British Art Fair this Autumn, presenting a considered selection of contemporary British painting by leading artists based in London, Kent and Cornwall.
Bringing together distinct approaches to painting, the presentation explores themes of environment, solitude, emotional and material sensation. Across the works, a shared commitment to technical rigour is balanced by highly individual artistic languages, with each artist engaging in different ways with the history and traditions of British painting.
The presentation reflects 155A Gallery’s interest in artists whose practices demonstrate both a strong sense of individuality and an awareness of those who have come before. From atmospheric and psychologically charged works to paintings that foreground surface, texture and materiality, the selection considers the enduring possibilities of the medium within contemporary practice.
